forestry mower for skid steer $23K+ I saw Alibaba selling mini excavators around the $4000 price range for a 1ton unit. Does anyone have any experience importing/using one of these machines? Wondering if they're worth considering as a first excavator for small yard work type use.

Also don't go smaller than the T-300. The mower is heavy and you need the weight of the machine to handle the mower.

skidsteer i have a mustang which is the same machine. 1500 trouble free hours on original tracks. bigger and stronger than the others cat ,bobcat ect. rides rougher than a cat and wont climb as quite as good. the cats are only getting 500 hours on tracks.I heard the bobcat was good machine and tracks are cheaper but i dont know for sure.
It seems to me (with my limited knowledge of heavy equipment) that a skid-steer or dedicated forestry mower could mow more acres. I do need to be able to move the equipment around. Most of the skid-steers and dedicated mowers are around six-feet wide. Also, there are a large number of people building roads and such in my area. Consider a bush hog mower on the back of a tractor. A good heavy duty mower has no problems with blackberries and small locust trees. You might need to get schooled up on tractor tire repairs if you are out with the locust trees. In some cases, a really heavy duty brush mower mounted on a high-flow tracked skid steer will do wonders. A wheel loader is the best for heighth, but the skid steer has it all over the wheel loader (CAT 910 in my case) for speed. I put 5' forks on my skid steer or CTL (Compact Track Loader) and it will walk all over in deep mud with a full load of hardwood logs. I would not get any other brand or make other than the aforementioned.
